The retired Gambia FIFA referee, Alagie Ebrima Faye, has called on stakeholders to adopt the new draft constitution of the Gambia Football Association (GFA) come Saturday 8 December 2012 at the Independence Stadium Friendship Hostel in Bakau.

Mr Faye, who made these remarks in an interview with this reporter yesterday, added that Omar Sey, vice-chairman of the GFA Normalisation Committee, is a household name in Gambian football and has contributed a lot towards the development of sport in the country and the world over.

Mr Faye stated that during the early stages of the normalisation committee’s tenure in office they faced series of criticisms from individuals but they have proved their critics wrong.

Football is a multi-million dollar industry, he said, adding that The Gambia has only one coach (Sang Ndong) with an A Licence.

He took time to thank the President of the Republic of The Gambia and the Minister of Youth and Sports for their wonderful contribution towards the development of sport in the country.

Faye concluded by appealing to the Gambian stakeholders and people to uplift Gambian football to higher heights.
