Multi-Trade Employee Testifies in Court

Anta Jatta, an employee of Multi Trade Gambia Limited, last Monday testified as the prosecution witness in the ongoing trial of one Musa Jarju  a former employee of the said company, who was charged with stealing by clerk or servant.

Giving testimonies before Magistrate Basiru Mahoney of the Kanifing Magistrates' Court, PW1 Anta Jatta told the court that she lives in Bundung and working with Multi Trade Gambia Limited, and her responsibilities are to collect money  from sales and deposit it at the bank.

PW1 continued to testify that she can fully recall January 2008, when she received sales money from the alleged accused who made an undertaking of the amount on paper and gave her the money. PW1 further revealed that the accused gave her exact amount of the day sales and she deposited money to the bank and was issued a receipt.

PW1 further elucidated that her boss once told her to check on the accused properly because he has doubts and disappointments about the accused. She adduced that her boss did not further elaborate his suspicion on the alleged accused.

She revealed to the court that she gave her statement at Kairaba Police Station. Hearing continues on the 19th  May 2009.

The alleged accused Musa Jarju is currently undergoing prosecution for stealing by servant or by clerk.
