The captain of The Gambia’s football team, Modou Jatta, has expressed optimism that the country will qualify for the Nations Cup, CHAN competition as well as the World Cup.
Jatta was speaking to reporters shortly after the international friendly game between The Gambia and Mauritania played at the Independence Stadium in Bakau on Friday.
Jatta said he was impressed by the victory against Mauritania, despite the Mauritanians dominated ball possession in the game.
Jatta added that the team performed well despite training for one week only prior to the international friendly.
Jatta believes that The Gambia will qualify for the Nations Cup, CHAN as well as the World Cup in the near future.
