Man in Court for Allegedly Raping a 16-Year Old

Babel Sowe was yesterday arraigned at the Kanifing Magistrates' Court before Magistrate Sagarr Jahateh for allegedly raping a 16-year old girl.

According to the charge sheet, the accused on or about the 25th December 2008 had carnal knowledge of an under 16-year old girl, an offence that now carries a maximum sentence of life imprisonment.

Babel Sowe has however denied the charge.

The case was subsequently adjourned for hearing.
