Man Arraigned for Alleged Grievous Bodily Harm

One Karamo Camara was on the 15th April 2009, brought before Senior Magistrate Abdoulie Mbake of the Kanifing Magistrates' Court charged with assault causing grievous bodily harm contrary to section 214 of the criminal code. He pleaded not guilty.

The charge sheet revealed that the accused on or about the 9th April 2009 at New Jeshwang assaulted one Alieu Keita by repeatedly stabbing him with a broken bottle on his neck, forehead and hand respectively, thereby causing him grievous bodily harm.

The accused was remanded in custody, pending the final determination of the case which was adjourned to the 6th May 2009.

Cadet Inspector Mballow represented the IGP.
