A landlord in Kerr Sering, Kombo North has reportedly killed his tenant over D100 rent arrears, this paper can reveal.
According to our sources, Lamin Ceesay had a row with his tenant, Gibril Njie, over D100, which was still outstanding out of D500 monthly rent.
According to our sources, for the last month Gibril could not settle the whole amount, but had managed to pay D400, leaving a balance of D100.
It happened that on Sunday morning Lamin confronted Gibril for the D100, who appealed that he should be given sometime to settle the balance. Lamin insisted that he must be paid, resulting in a row between the two.
But the two came to their senses when neighbours intervened to maintain the peace.
Later in the evening, our sources added, Lamin again confronted Gibril but this time around with a pestle in the hand, which he used to hit Gibril on the head.
Gibril was then rushed to the Serrekunda Health Centre, where he was clinically pronounced dead.
When contacted, Superintendent Sulayman Secka, the Police PRO confirmed the story and revealed that Lamin Ceesay had been arrested and is currently helping the police in their investigations.
