Friday, March 12, 2010

The jewellery theft case involving Ndey Korka Ndong resumed on 10th March 2010 before Magistrate Abdoulie Mback of the Kanifing Magistrates' Court.

Testifying before the court, the second prosecution witness, one Lamin Janneh told the court that he recognised the accused person and knows one Lamin Danso.

According to him, on 18th September 2009, he was called by the Kanifing Estate Police to serve as an independent witness.

He said after obtaining the statement from the accused, it was read out to her and she accepted that she and Aji Kumba Ndure had jointly committed the offence.

He added that the accused had thumb-printed the statement and he signed it as an Independent witness.

The statement was later tendered for identification purpose without any objection from the defence counsel.

The case was adjourned to 29th March 2010.
