Omar Sise, head coach of the Gambia national U-20 team, has said he always wants to bring glory to The Gambia whenever he prepares the national team for international competitions.

Coach Sise was speaking at the Gambia Football Federation media briefing held at the Football House in Kanifing Layout on Monday.

The briefing was held on the backdrop of Gambia’s disqualification from WAFU championship after failing to play extra time against the host nation, Senegal, in the final game played on Saturday.

He said:“I was really impressed with the performance of the team against Senegal in the final as the team dominated the Senegalese in all departments in the field of play.”

Coach Sise explained that Senegalese team had taken part in the All African Games in Congo Brazzaville while his Gambian team did not.

However, he said his team was able to contain the Senegalese throughout the 90 minutes.

He applauded the Gambia Football Federation for their tireless support to the team.
