GVBA knockout final set for Saturday

The Gambia Volleyball Association (GVBA) Knockout final is slated for Saturday 12 April 2014, at the Manneh Sillah Memorial Court in Banjul.

The most-awaited knockout final will feature two security forces - Gambia Armed Forces and Interior - in both male and female categories.

This year, 7 male teams and four female teams participated in the national league and knockout championship.

Jeshwang Volleyball Club have been crowned as the league champions in the male category and Gambia Armed Forces are the national female champions.

Gambia Armed Forces female team is looking for the doubles but they have to overcome an interior team that has won the last six national finals. In an interview with Pointsport yesterday, the president of Gambia Volleyball Association (GVBA), Musa Cassa Taal, said the league started in August 2013, adding that trophies and consolation prizes will be presented to the champions, runners-up and the most discipline team.

Taal is inviting all volleyball lovers and veterans to come in their large numbers to witness the final promised to be a cracker.
