No official reason has been advanced to this paper for the arrest of Mr Njie, who served as minister of finance, foreign affairs, and higher education.
It would be recalled that Mr Njie, a former cabinet minister, was on July 3 acquitted and discharged by the High Court of The Gambia after undergoing several months of trial on a two-count charge of economic crime, and one count of negligence of official duty.
