Swansea City winger Modou Secka and Championship side Huddersfield Town on-loan-winger (from Middleborough) Mustapha Carayol are set to miss The Gambia’s 2018 World Cup qualifiers against Namibia on Friday 9 October 2015, at the Independence Stadium in Bakau.

Barrow and Carayol’s absence for the tie against Namibia was announced by head coach Raoul Savoy at a media conference held at the Gambia Football Federation Secretariat in Kanifing layout yesterday.

Coach Savoy said Barrow and “Muzzy” were both invited for the match against Namibia but declined their invitation to play for the country due to personal reasons.

Coach Savoy said the game against Namibia is going to be very tough, adding that they will try to win in order to boost their chances of playing in the group stage.

The head coach pointed out that Tijan Jaiteh and Momodou Ceesay are doing extremely well in their respective clubs as they are committed.

Savoy seized the opportunity to call on the Gambian public to come out in their large numbers to cheer up the boys in order to snatch a victory against Namibian on Friday.
