Affray landed Gambian and Lebanese Nationals in Court

Nasir Bader and Ali Mahoum were on Monday 22ndDecember 2008 arraigned before Her Worship Magistrate Sambou Wadda Ceesay of Kanifing Magistrates' court for array contrary to section 82 of criminal code cap 10 vol. III laws of the Gambia 1990.

According to the particulars of the offence Nasir Bader and Ali Mahoum on the 21stNovember 2008 at around 11:00 -12:00p.m. at Pipeline in the KanifingMunicipality of the Republic of The Gambia jointly fought at a public place.

Presenting the facts before the court, police prosecutor SGT. 870 Touray said the first accused Nasir on 21stNovember was coming from a supermarket while the second accused Ali Mahoum stood in front of the first accused and told him that he is wanted at Kotu Police station. As a result there was a scuffle during which both of them sustained injuries.

The first accused person pleaded guilty and was subsequently cautioned and discharged while the second accused pleaded not guilty and was bailed in the sum of D10, 000 with a Gambian surety.

Hearing will continue on 31stDecember 2008. SGT 870 Touray represented the IGP.
