Abdou Kolley appointed Gambia’s ambassador to South Africa

Former Cabinet minister Abdou Kolley has been appointed Gambia’s ambassador to South Africa. He replaced Seedy Lette, reliable sources informed The Point.

An economist with a wealth of experience, Mr Kolley has been appointed to numerous Cabinet positions in the government. He served as Minister of Trade, Industry and Employment from February 2007 to June 2009; Minister of Finance and Economic Affairs from June 2009 to March 2010; Minister of Trade, Regional Integration and Employment from March 2010 to July 2010; Minister of Trade, Industry, Regional Integration and Employment from January 2011 to February 2012; Minister of Finance from July 2010 to January 2011; Minister of Fisheries, Water Resources and National Assembly Matters from February 2012 to April 2012 and Minister of Finance and Economic Affairs in 2012.

Before being appointed as Gambia’s ambassador to South Africa, Mr Kolley served as Minister of Trade, Industry, Regional Integration and Employment until June 2014.
