The embattled former accountant of Gambia Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) Lamin Njie has been granted a five million dalasis court bail.
He was yesterday granted bail in the said sum with two Gambians with landed properties within the Greater Banjul Area, who must deposit their title deeds and identity cards as sureties.
Mr Lamin Njie is standing trial for allegedly stealing four million nine hundred thousand, being the property of the Gambia Government, a charge he denied.
According to the particulars of the offence, between January 2005 and December 2007, while working for GCAA, Mr Lamin Njie stole the sum of D4, 900,000.00.
The presiding magistrate, Pa Harry Jammeh adjourned the case until 15th September 2008 for continuation.
