GTB Installs Two Additional ATM's

In line with its continued benchmark initiatives, Guaranty Trust Bank (Gambia) Limited recently installed two additional ATM machines at its Serrekunda branch and Africell building along Kairaba Avenue, bringing to four the total number of GTB ATM machines.

This latest development will no doubt engender more convenience to the bank's teeming customers. According to a press release from GTB, the bank has also introduced Point of Sales Terminal (POS), thus increasing the array of service channels of the bank.

The release added that the GTB POS terminal is a Europay, Master and Visa Cards (EMV) certified and are rolled out on a GPRS enabled network and seconded by dialogue with the capacity to perform multiple transactions within 30 seconds. The release revealed that henceforth, customers with GTBank Cashplus Card would be able to do their shopping without necessarily carrying physical cash.

In addition, the release went on, the benefits of the GTBank POS terminal are enormous as it enables customers to perform multiple of transactions including cash advance, checking account balance, statement printing and fund transfer between GTBank accounts just by one swipe of the GTBank Cashplus Card in the POS Terminal.

Commenting on this latest technological breakthrough, the release continues, the Guaranty Trust Bank (Gambia) Managing Director Mr. Lekan Sanusi said, "Banking should not only be a luxury but a service that is accessible to all and sundry." This, Mr Sanusi added, is the more reason why GTBank would always go the extra mile to provide innovative services to its valued customers.

For his part, Mr. Muyiwa Ayodele, Head of Information Technology, said the POS is built on an international recognised technology platform which is very fast, secure and user friendly.

"Customers need only GTBank Cashplus Cash to have access to cash 24 hours a day and do their daily shopping through our ATM machines and POS", the GTB IT wizard posited.

Being reputed to have the fastest rate of branch expansion, GTBank is today the third largest bank in The Gambia with an astonishing 77% growth in balance sheet to close at D1.7 billion as of the end of 2007.
