According to reliable sources, Mr Tamsir Jallow, Gambia's Ambassador to the USA, has been recalled. At the time of writing this piece, this paper could not ascertain the reason(s) for Mr Jallow's recall.

Mr Tamsir Jallow served as Majority Leader in the country's National Assembly from 1997 to 2002. He was also the Chairman of the defunct July 22ndmovement and founding member of the ruling APRC party.

From 2002 to 2005 Mr Jallow served as Deputy High Commissioner to the United Kingdom.

He was promoted in 2005 to the rank of High Commissioner in the United Kingdom, in which post he remained until 2007.

In 2007, he moved to New York as The Gambia's Permanent Representative to the UN.
