As a prelude to the 1st Youth Olympic Games to be held in Singapore in August this year, the 1st Edition of the Africa Youth Games (AYG) organised by ANOCA (Association of National Olympic Committees of Africa), will be held in Rabat, Kingdom of Morocco from July 13th to 18th, 2010 featuring 17 sports.

The African Youth Games will help our young athletes to familiarise with the concept of the Youth Olympic Games whose structure is very different from any previous games / events in which they have been involved.

The Gambia National Olympic Committee, an affiliate to ANOCA will be sending a team of young athletes to compete in the athletics.

The acting President, Ms Beatrice Allen, will be represented at the Games by Mr. Abdul Shyllon who will be heading the delegation.

The delegation is expected to leave Banjul on Sunday 11th July 2010.
