The West Coast Region (WCR) annual inter-academy football tournament will get underway this weekend at the FIFA Goal Project in Yundum in Kombo North, West Coast Region.
Jatta’s Football Academy of Lamin will clash with Gunjur Community football academy in the opening game on Sunday 12 August 2012, with the game described by many football fans in the region as a crunch clash.
Jatta’s football academy a household name in The Gambia’s inter-academy football tournament won last year’s West Coast Region inter-academy football tournament.
The side has also produced one of the finest players for teams in the GFA first and second division league teams over the years.
The tournament will feature two categories U-13 and U-15 respectively.
The tournament is meant to nurture, promote and develop grassroots football as well as scouting raw talents in the region.
