Turo Darboe, Not Only a Philanthropist

Wednesday, May 27, 2009

To say Momodou Turo Darboe is a philanthropist might be an understatement.

Momodou Turo Darboe is a real nationalist. He not only has shown much wisdom from helping the needy, he is also seen to be contributing in every domain all with aim of helping to make his country the best place, the latest being his intervention of repainting the whole GRTS complex and also providing a good number of fire extinguishers for the edifice. It is really a sound decision to be sharing his fortune with the needy and being in the forefront in national development initiatives by complementing government's efforts in its development goals.

Mr. Darboe is on record to have said that he has the strong belief that through collective participation and partnership, we can easily build our nation.

Momodou Turo Darboe, now a household name in The Gambia and described by many as a rare philanthropist, is the type of people dear motherland Gambia needs. We thank him for all he is doing towards the advancement of this country and urge him to keep up the momentum.

His organisation, Vision Development Foundation (VDF) is almost every week helping the needy and contributing immensely towards national development initiatives.

He said he established the VDF with the objective amongst others, to look for various ways and opportunities to contribute his part in national development.

He has long held the reputation as one of the 'hard to forget' nationalists and a man proud of giving, spending millions of dalasis every month helping the needy, or on national development initiatives.

We encourage other privileged Gambians like Momodou Turo Darboe to emulate him.
