Serrekunda East Volleyball Club last Wednesday 16th December 2009 took on Interior in a friendly encounter at the Gambia Technical Training Institute (GTTI) Volleyball Lawn.
The friendly is part of both teams' preparation for the forthcoming sub-regional Integration Tournament through sports, which is expected to take place from 26th-30th December, 2009, in Ziguinchorr, Senegal, for male and female categories.
Interior Volleyball Club defeated Serrekunda East in the female category by two sets to nil.
In the male category, both sides drew 1-, and then played first to 10 points which ended 10-8 in favour of Serrekunda East.
Speaking to the Head Coach of Serrekunda East Volleyball Club, Alagie Babou Joof, shortly after the game, he said the game was a move to test their strength on what they have been training for the past weeks ahead of Ziguinchorr.
"The test game is to be better prepared for the competition so that when we reach there, we can survive any condition within the tournament and possible emerge victorious," the confident Coach asserted.
