Real Held Samger

Monday, May 18, 2009

Despite an indifferent start to the season by the super cup champions, Samger are now enjoying a fantastic form recently after another hard-fought 1-1 draw with Real De Banjul in the week twenty fixtures at the Serrekunda East Mini-stadium on Saturday. Goals from Samger's Lamin Samateh and Real's Dabai Gaye was enough for the two sides to share points in a titanic encounter in the 14th and 56th minutes respectively.

The academy boys are still maintaining the second position in the 12 club championship on 31 points with only 6 points separating them and the league leaders Armed Forces whom they denied all the maximum points when they beat them 2-1 in the week nineteen fixtures played at the Serekunda East Mini-stadium last Wednesday.

Meanwhile, the rejuvenated Real De Banjul side are currently in the middle of the table with 24 points.

Coach Pa Samba Mbenga's men had also endured a frustrating moment in the early stage of the season after strings of dismal results under the tenure of former coach Papa Sarr Corr but the rejuvenated Real side are having a wonderful time in the league of recent.

Armed Forces' game with Hawks at the Independence Stadium on Saturday was cancelled. The Khaki Boys will now need about four points in their remaining four games to be crowned champions for the 2008/09 championship.
