Monday, June 15, 2009

Sergeant Bakary Kujabi, a police officer attached to Tallinding Police Station, on 4 June 2009, testified as the fourth prosecution witness in the ongoing case of giving false information, involving three accused persons, Mariama Touray, Ebrima Touray and Abdou Fatty.

Sgt Bakary Kujabi testified that on the 21st July 2008, at around 10:00am while he was on duty at Tallinding Police Station, he obtained a cautionary and voluntary statement from the second accused in the presence of an independent witness. The prosecuting officer Cpl Sarr, applied to tender both statements as exhibits, which the defence counsel for the accused, Lawyer Assan Martin, did not object to.

The case that was chaired by Magistrate Foster of the Bundung Magistrates'Court, was adjourned to 16th June 2009
