Thursday, September 03, 2009

The National Sports Council (NSC) has granted Serrekunda Central Sports Committee their request to become a recognised sports zone, increasing the number of sports committees within the Kanifing Municipality to four.

The committee that stages its matches at the Paki Mobyo field gained this status after a thorough observation by the National Sports Council.

As part of the observation, NSC stated that Central has forwarded relevant points constituting a zone, that the committee will not be one sports committee basic. It stated that all associations will have input in their programme of activities and budget, always send reports to the KMC regional sports committee and copy it to the council and to abide by the rules and regulations of the KMC regional sports committee.

NSC congratulated the latest sports zone in KMC for their initiative.

The Serrekunda Central sports outfit which was operated by an interim committee was also urged by the National Sports Council to hold elections in three months time, to elect a proper executive committee for the zone.
