Man arraigned for alleged theft

One Abdoulie Drammeh was recently arraigned at the Kanifing Magistrates’ Court, charged with stealing.

The charge sheet on count one stated that the accused, Abdoulie Drammeh, on 21 September 2011, at Manjai, in the Kanifing Municipality, fraudulently converted D9,000 and D7,500 to his own use, being monies given to him respectively by one Musa Jallow and Habib Sallah to secure them a house for rent.

Count two read that some time in August 2011, at Manjai and diverse places in the Kanifing Municipality, he fraudulently converted D20, 000 and D2, 000 to his own use, being monies given to him respectively by one Aisha Touray and Ansumana Camara to secure them a house for rent, which he never fulfilled.

The particulars of offence on count three revealed that on 17 February 2011, at the Kanifing Municipality, Abdoulie Drammeh fraudulently converted D6, 000 to his own use, being money given to him by one Mariama Saidy for the purpose of securing her a house for rent.

Furthermore, count four stated that on 23 September 2011, at Manjai, in the Kanifing Municipality, Drammeh also fraudulently converted D7, 500 to his own use, being money given to him by one Saffie Jallow for rent.

And count five indicated that on 4 October 2011, at Manjai, in the Kanifing Municipality, the same accused person fraudulently converted D4, 000 to his own use, being money given to him by one Tinna Sanneh to secure a recent house for her, which he failed to do.

Abdoulie Drammeh the accused denied the charges and was remanded in custody for the case to resume on 2 April 2012.
