Late Jay Saidy's Tournament Underway In Janjanbureh

Janjanbureh Sport Development Committee (JSDC) is organising a tournament being named after J-Saidy, a citizen of the village.

Speaking to the Pointsport, Mr. Kemba Kijera, a member of the organising committee said the tournament is sponsored by Aja Isatou Njie-Saidy, the widow of the late Jay Saidy.

According to Mr. Kijera, ten teams are vying for the tournament, namely Banni, Manchester, Young Forest, Lamin koto, Gamstar, Jarumeh koto, Ninki nanka, Jamal FC, Berlin and Old hands, respectively.

Mr. Kijera said the late Jay Saidy's tournament started five years ago, with the sole aims of paying tribute to the late J-Saidy for his stand in uplifting sports in Janjangbureh.

The scores of matches played so far are as follows: Berlin 0 Manchester 1, Ninki nanka 0 Young forest 1, Jarumeh koto 0 Manchester 0 and Banni 1 Lamin koto 0.
