GNOC, Africell 2009 Olympic Day Run Saturday

Saturday July 4th 2009 will witness another edition of the annual Olympic Day Run, organised by the Gambia National Olympic Committee, in partnership with Africell in the form of road races in different categories.

Schools in the Greater Banjul Area are expected to participate in the event which will bring together a total of about 1000 participants in 3km, 5km and 10km categories.

The run is expected to start at the Africell Head Office, while a similar run will take place in LRR and URR.

The Olympic Day is a great opportunity for a large audience to experience the Olympic values and live the Olympic experience outside games times.

The theme for this year's is "Youth Empowerment Against Drugs and Alcohol".

The Olympic Day Run is the biggest massive sports in the world, organised to cerebrate the Olympic Movement (IOC)"
