GFF, FiBank present prize monies to Super Nawettan champions, others today

The Gambia Football Federation (GFF) and FiBank Gambia Limited, the sponsors of the 2016 Super Nawettan, will formally present prize money and other awards to the 2016 Super Nawettan champions and others at a ceremony today, Thursday 17 November 2016, at the Gambia Football Federation Secretariat in Kanifing Layout at 11am.

Gunjur are set to receive D75, 000 as champions of the 2016 FiBank-sponsored Super Nawettan, after beating Banjul 2-1 in the final game played at the Independence Stadium in Bakau on 28 October 2016.

Banjul are expected to receive D50,000 as runners-up, after losing to Gunjur 2-1 in the final game played at the Independence Stadium in Bakau on 28 October 2016.

Serrekunda East are to receive the third place prize after beating Sukuta on penalties, in the third place play-off, and Sukuta will receive the fourth place prize after losing to Serrekunda East on penalties, following their goalless draw in regulation time in the third place play-off at the Serrekunda East Mini Stadium.

Midfielder Salifu Bojang alias Bapa of Gunjur is set to receive the best player award, after his eye-catching performance for the South boys in the country’s communities biggest football fiesta this year.

Midfielder Mbemba Fatty alias Andrea Iniesta of Gunjur will receive the leading goal-scorer award, after netting five goals for the South boys in the Super Nawettan this year.

Banjul goalkeeper Ahmed Savage and defender Abdoulie Samba are set to receive the best goalkeeper and best defender awards respectively, following their remarkable performance for the city boys in the annual zonal football championship this season.

Manjai are set to receive the most disciplined team award, after exercising maximum discipline in the annual zonal football championship.

Sukuta will receive the best fan club award, for their wonderful style of supporting during the championship.
