africa » gambia
Wednesday, May 13, 2009

Mr Bola Carrol, a prominent Gambian lawyer, has taken legal action at the Brikama High Court against the Ministry of Local Government and Lands, the Director of Physical Planning, Director of Social Security and Housing Corporation, and the Attorney General's Chambers over a piece of land in Tujereng, Kombo South, Western Region.

Mr. Carrol is seeking a court injunction that he is the rightful owner of the piece of land in question, one measuring 100mx200m situated at Tujereng along the Tujereng-Sanyang coastal road; and another situated at Tujereng along the Banyaka road, measuring 500m x300m.

He is also seeking a court order restraining the defendants, their servants or agents from entering upon, or in any way interfering with the said pieces of land, and other reliefs.

The case was adjourned until the 13th and 14th May 2009 for proceedings.
