The 2010-2011 Gambia Football Association division one league champions made a slow start to the 2011-2012 Gambia Football Division one league campaign after a goalless draw against current FA and Super  Cup champions Gamtel in the week one fixtures played at the Banjul KG5 Mini-stadium at the weekend.

Both sides had series of goal-scoring opportunities but the game failed to produce a winner; as a result both sides shared the spoils.

Elsewhere, 2009-2010 league champions Gambia Ports Authority were also held to a goalless draw by Bakau United in the other week one fixtures played at the Serrekunda East Mini-stadium the same day.

Bakau giant killers Steve Biko started on a fine note to the new league season following their hard fought 1-0 win over Academy boys Samger at the Serrekunda East Mini-stadium last Thursday.

Steve Biko opened the score through Sainey Ceesay in the 34th minute of the game, which eventually proved to be the winner for the giant killers as they bagged their first victory in the new campaign.

Elsewhere, newly promoted side Serrekunda United came one-nil down to draw 1-1 with fellow newly promoted side Hawks in the other week one fixtures played at the Brikama Box Mini-stadium the same day.

Hawks opened the score through substitute Bakary Sambou in the 63rd minute of the game after slashing through Serrekunda United defence line to give his side the lead before Madi Fatty levelled the score for Serrekunda United in the 71st minute of the game from a brilliant header to share the spoils.

Highlight of the results have it that Brikama United have collected a single point in one game, Gamtel have also collected a single point in one outing, Gambia Ports Authority one point in a single game, Steve Biko 3 points in one game, Hawks one point in one game, and Serrekunda United a single point in one outing.
