After losing two consecutive games, Armed Forces have bounced back to beat league debutants Serrekunda United 2-0 in Wednesday’s Week 4 fixtures at the Father Gough Sports Complex in Manjai Kunda.


After losing two consecutive games, Armed Forces have bounced back to beat league debutants Serrekunda United 2-0 in Wednesday’s Week 4 fixtures at the Father Gough Sports Complex in Manjai Kunda.

Armed Forces came into the game with three points after falling to Bakau United and Samger in Week 2 and 3 fixtures respectively.

Serrekunda United came into the game with four points, on the back of a narrow 1-0 defeat to the reigning league champions Brikama United at the weekend.

Armed Forces’ midfielder general Landing Darbo on the  9th  minute of the game marked his name on the score sheet for the khaki boys from a penalty spot to give his side the lead.

Striker Kabba Jobe doubled Armed Forces lead in the 17th minute to seal a 2-0 victory for Armed Forces.

Young Africans have maintained their unbeaten run in the 2011/12 Gambia Football Association (GFA) division league season after thrashing newly promoted side Hawks 2-0 at the KG5 Mini-stadium in Banjul.

Blue boys Wallidan finally snatched their first victory this weekend following their hard fought 1-0 victory over Bakau giant killers Steve Biko at the Serrekunda East Mini-stadium.

Gambia Ports Authority beat reigning league champions Brikama United 1-0 in the other Week 4 fixtures played at the Independence Stadium in Bakau.

The Young Africans have now bagged 8 points in four games, while Gambia Ports Authority have also collected 8 points. Armed Forces have got 6 points, while Brikama United are at 5 points in four matches.

Serrekunda United, Steve Biko and Wallidan are each standing at 4 points in four fixtures.
