Gambia to celebrate 22nd July Revolution October 10

According to official sources, The Gambia will on 10 October 2014 celebrate this year’s the 20th anniversary of the July 22nd Revolution, which ushered in unprecedented socio-economic development under President Yahya Jammeh.

According to the information gathered, this year’s July 22nd Revolution celebration will commence on Friday 10th October 2014 with a colourful parade at the Independent Stadium in Bakau at 8.30 am, followed by days of ceremonial activities including the commissioning of development projects.

Our sources further revealed that several world leaders and dignitaries will grace the celebration.

It would also be recalled that since President Jammeh took power on 22nd July 1994, there has been a lot of development that he brought to the doorsteps of the Gambian people, such as the establishment of the University of The Gambia, Banjul International Airport Terminal, Gambia Radio and Television Services, Kombo Coastal Road, Westfield-Madinaba Road, Trans-Gambia Highway, schools, hospitals, scholarship for girls education, women and youth empowerment, just to name a few.
