Cattle dealer faces deportation

The Brikama Magistrates' Court, presided over by Magistrate Babucarr Secka recently ordered the deportation of one cattle dealer Alhagie Nyang and a resident of Tanjeh Village to his country of origin.

According to the facts as narrated by the police prosecutor, Cpl. 1343 Camara, it happened on 27th June 2010, when the convict, Alhagie Nyang was coming from Tanje beach side at around 21.00hrs. He said the convict found a sheep tied on the roadside, which he took and entrusted it to the care of one Yaya.

Cpl. 1343 Camara further adduced that the following day, the convict took the sheep from the said Yaya and sold it to one Jerreh Marong of Tanje for D800.

He added that Jerreh was later arrested in possession of the said sheep and was taken to the Tanje Police Station. He said during the interrogation Jerreh told the police that he bought the sheep from the convict, Alhagie Nyang.

Subsequently, he added the convict was arrested and later confessed of committing the offence.
