Case of possession of fake documents continues

The trial of alleged case of possession of fake document involving one Samba Lamin Jabbi continued recently at the Brikama Magistrates’ Court before Magistrate Babucarr Secka.

Testifying for the prosecution, Detective First Class Ousman Manneh told the court he recognised the accused and on the day of the incident, he was on duty at the joint taskforce office at the Banjul International Airport.

He said he was called by one George Walle, the profiling officer, who showed him the accused person, together with a Guinea Bissau passport number AA1N 23052 and the Portuguese residential card number 0700028 which were suspected to be fake documents.

Detective Manneh further told the court that the accused, together with the documents, was later handed over to him.

The passport and the residential card were later tendered and admitted as exhibits.

He said he later gave his statement to Yundum Police Station.

The case was at that juncture adjourned till 11 August 2011.
