West Coast Region giants Brikama United have moved to second place on the GFA first division League table by beating struggling Gambia Ports Authority 2-1 in the week two fixtures at the Brikama Box Bar Mini-stadium.

Brikama United opened the scoring through striker Musa Bojang (alias Del Piero) in the 22nd minute.

The Western Region boys netted their second goal of the game through Musa Bojang's 52nd minute strike that put the game beyond the reach of the ferry boys much to the disappointment of Coach Peter Bonu Johnson and his faltering charges.

Substitute Alagie Fatajo scored a consolation goal for Bonu and his men after converting a 60th minute penalty following a hefty tackle from Brikama's goalkeeper Ebrima Bojang on striker Kebba Bah.

The win has seen Brikama United climb 2nd position on the league table with 4 points in two games, while GPA are in joint third positions in standings after two weeks of first division league matches.

Elsewhere, Armed Forces beat 2010/ 2011 Africell 2-1 at the Father Gough Sports Complex in Manjai Kunda on Sunday.

Alieu Mbye scored Africell's only goal in the 5th minute of the game from a fantastic shot while Buba Sama (alias Totti) scored a brace for Armed Forces in the 24th minute from a penalty spot and a classic finish in the 70th minute of the game to earn his side all the needed three points.

Interior drew goalless with Young Africans in the other week two fixtures at the rejuvenated Banjul's KG5 Mini-stadium.
