Brikama Area Council Receives Boost

The Arab Gambian Islamic Bank on Tuesday 26th May, 2009 presented a cheque amounting to D2 7,500.00 (Twenty- Seven Thousand, Five Hundred Dalasi) to the Cleansing Service unit of the Brikama Area Council.

The cheque was presented at a ceremony held at the office of the Chief Executive Officer of Council.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Seringe Modou Joof, Principal Administrative Officer of the council, said the donation of the said amount to council is as a result of a project developed by the cleansing service unit in its quest to make the region a healthy and clean.

Mr. Joof described AGIB's gesture as positive and remarkable.

For his part, Mr. Ebrima Mballow, AGIB Branch Manager for Western Region noted his delight in presenting the said cheque to the council on behalf of his Bank.

Mr. Mballow reiterated that the presentation of the said amount is a fulfillment of the social cooperate responsibility of his bank to the communities.

In receiving the cheque, Chairman of the Brikama Area Council, Mr. Sunkary Badjie described AGIB as a genuine partner of his council in development.

Mr. Badjie reiterated the need for concerted efforts in achieving development and said that his council is committed to plough back the revenue generated from communities in the forms of services.

The BAC chairman hailed AGIB for their timely and relevant assistance and expressed hoped that the partnership will continue .He promised that the donated cash will be put into good use.

The manager of the BAC cleansing unit, Mr. Bakary Jadama said that the donation of the said amount is timely and commended the donor for their intervention.

He said cleansing service operations is expensive and that forging such partnership with banks and other organisations will enhance their capacity in ensuring efficient service delivery. Mr. Jadama promised that the donated cash will be properly utilised.

The presentation ceremony was attended by the Vice Chairman, Mr. Lamin Haja Bojang, Director of Finance Mr. Momodou NT Cham and Mr. Lang Luwang Conteh, Cleansing Service Supervisor.
