Baatin Band To Perform Live Concert Today

africa » gambia
Friday, October 30, 2009

According to information sent to Entertainment recently, one of Senegalese band called Baatin Band is currently in the country for a musical concert. The band is expected to perform live today at the Alliance Franco- gambienne starting from 9pm onwards.

Baatin Band was founded by young musicians from Senegal, and had performed for years in different venues in Thies and Dakar, just to name a few.

The Band decided to relocate to Casamance and then The Gambia in order to make better research and fuse the Southern rhythms into their nascent Afro-Fusion-Rhythms, a cocktail of sounds and rhythms from the sub-region captured through modern and traditional instruments.

Baatin, as its name suggests, is on a permanent quest for the essence that structures music and allow the fusion of melodies and rhythms from different origins. Their distinctive African rhythmic patterns had brought a unique flavor to their compositions.
