Assault lands woman in court

A woman accused of assault, causing actual bodily harm, was recently arraigned at the Kanifing Magistrates’ Court.

Fatou Touray denied the charge and was granted court bail of D1, 000 with a Gambian surety, who must deposit an ID card.

The particulars of the offence read in court stated that the accused, Fatou Touray, on 4 January 2012, at Latrikunda German, in the Kanifing Municipality, assaulted one Amie Jobe, by lacerating her with razor blade, thereby causing her actual bodily harm.

Hearing continues on 20 February 2012.
