A man called Prince Omenihu was recently arraigned before Magistrate Tabally of the Kanifing Magistrates’ Court, charged with rash and negligent act, causing death.
Prince Omenihu denied the charge and was granted court bail of D100,000 with two Gambian sureties who must deposit their national ID cards.
The alleged offence read that on 17 June 2011, at Kanifing South, in the Kanifing Municipality, the defendant, Prince Omenihu, drove a motor vehicle with registration number BJL 6279E Isuzu Trupper private, in a negligent manner, thereby caused the death of one Eliman Faal of Kanifing South, a five-year-old boy.
Hearing continues on 27 July 2011.
