Alleged assault case reaches court

Nanding Baldeh and Amie Baldeh were Monday arraigned before Magistrate Jeng of the Brikama Magistrates’ Court, charged with assualt.

The particulars of offence read that the accused persons, Nanding Baldeh and Amie Baldeh, on 7 May 2013 at Busumbala village, fought one Yamusu Jallow, by beating all over her body.

The first accused, Nanding Baldeh, denied the charge, while the second accused, Amie Baldeh, admitted to the charge.

They were each granted court bail of D4,000 with a Gambian surety who must swear to an affidavit of means and deposit their ID cards.

The case was adjourned to 29 May 2013.

In a similar development, Nanding Baldeh was again arraigned before the same court, charged with assault causing actual bodily harm.

According to the charge sheet read in court, the accused, Nanding Baldeh, on 7 May 2013 at Busumbala village, assaulted one Kebba Jallow, by hitting him with a spade on his head.

She denied the charge and was granted court bail of D2,500 with a Gambian surety who must swear to an affidavit of means, and deposit an ID card.

The case continues on 29 May 2013.

In yet another development, Kebba Jallow, was also arraigned at the same court, charged with assault causing actual bodily harm.

He admitted to the charge and was granted court bail of D5, 000 with two Gambian sureties who must swear to an affidavit of means, and deposit their ID cards.

The charge sheet read that the accused, Kebba Jallow, on 7 May 2013 at Busumbala village, beat one Amie Jallow with a spade on her head and neck.

Judgment was set for 29 May 2013.
