Africa Oyster Trust Donates Anti-malaria Drugs

Africa Oyster Trust, a registered British charity recently donated anti-malaria drugs to Jappineh Health Centre in Jarra.

The donated items which worth thirty eight thousand seven hundred and fifty Dalasi, was presented by Lady Kira Dalton, the Director of Africa Oyster Trust to Mr. Fanding Manjang, the Chairman of the management committee of the clinic. The donated drugs included inject able tablets, dextrose, saline, canulas.

Speaking at the presentation ceremony, Madam Dalton described the donation as timely, citing the beginning of the rainy season.

She expressed her delight over the quick response by the government in providing a mid-wife and the inclusion of the clinic in the anti-malaria campaign.

Mr. Fanding Manjang who received the drugs, commended Africa Oyster Trust for what he described as a good gesture. He said the donated items would be put to good use in the fight against malaria.

This latest donation of anti-malaria drugs, it could be recalled, followed a similar donation of drugs to the said facility by the same British charity in March 2009, valued at three hundred and fifty thousand Dalasi.
