3 Years for Rash and Negligent

The Brikama Magistrates' Court presided over by Magistrate Kayode recently convicted and sentenced one Abdou Lamin Trawally for rash and negligent act causing death. He was sentence to three years imprisonment.

According to the facts as narrated by the police prosecutor, ASP Samateh on 25th March 2009, at Sanyang village, the accused was riding a bicycle when he happened to knock the deceased one Famara Samateh. He said the deceased as a result of the knock was rushed to the village health centre and later referred to the RVTH were he was pronounced death.

ASP Samateh further adduced that the accused was arrested, cautioned and charged with the offence committed.

The convict for his part begged the court to temper justice with mercy, as he is a family man with two wives and six children.
