One Mustapha Drammeh was on Tuesday arraigned before Senior Magistrate Abdoulie Mbackeh of the Kanifing Magistrates' Court on the charge of obtaining money by false pretences. He denied the charge.
The accused is alleged to have obtained the sum of D66,075 from one Lama Ceesay in December 2007 at Churchill's Town with the fake promise that he would get him a Belgian visa.
Meanwhile he was granted court bail in the sum of D66,100, with two Gambian sureties one of whom must be in possession of a landed property of that value.
The case was adjourned for hearing.
