Wednesday, April 23, 2008

Alhaji Lama Jallow is awaiting trial for defrauding the Trust Bank-Gambia Ltd. of over half-a-million dalasi.

Lama is expected at the Bundung Magistrates' Court for the beginning of his trial over 'stealing' D673,486.86 from the bank account of the Tallinding-based Bintang Nursery School.

According to the details of the alleged bank fraud, as indicated in court, Lama on or about 12 May 2003 to 28 June 2007, stole the aforementioned sum from the Latrikunda Sabiji branch of Trust Bank.

He denies the charges and is expected in court on 30 April 2008.
