Jamisa USSS athletics team retain inter-schools athletics trophy

Jamisa Upper Basic and Senior Secondary School athletics team over the weekend retained The Gambia Secondary School Sports Association (GSSSA) national inter-schools athletics competition trophy.

The Brikama based-school retained their crown after securing 308 points in the 2024 national inter-schools athletics competition final held at the Battrop Upper and Secondary School football Field in Brikama.

Latrikunda Sabiji came out second position with 279 points, while Mahad finished third position with 224 points.

Bakoteh sit fourth-place with 150 points, while Brikama and St. Georges leveled on points.

The duo secured 82 points each.

Charles Jaw sit seventh position with 79 points, while St. Michael occupy eighth position with 75 points. 

Scan Aid sit ninth position with 59 points, while Mingdaw occupy Tenth position with 50 points.

Nasir occupy 11th position with 46 points, while Bottrop sit 12th position with 45 points.

Farafenni sit 13th position with 44 points, while Kaur occupy 14th position with 43 points.

Kerr Pateh sit 15th position with 40 points, while Maladah occupy 16th position with 39 points.

St. Peters occupy 17th position with 33 points, while sit Gunjur 18th position with 30 points.

 Samasang and Bansang levelled on points.

 The duo snatched 25 points each.

 Brikama Ba sit 21st position with 23 points, while Essau occupy 22nd position with 21 points.

Tahir levelled on points with Sukuta.

The pair clinched 20 points each.

Nemasu occupy 25th position with 17 points, while Greater Banjul sit 26th position with 15 points.

St. Francis sit 27th position with 14 points, while Muslim and Serign Mass levelled on points with 13 points each.

Gambia High school sit 30th position with 12 points, while Kafuta occupy 31st position with 11 points.

As champions, Jamisa Upper and Senior Secondary School went home with D100, 000 while Latrikunda Sabiji received D75, 000 as second place holder.

Mahad received D50, 000 as third holder.

In the Upper Basic Schools category, New Covenant came out first position with 252 points, whileJambanjelly came out second position with 244 points.

St. Charles sit third place with165 points, while Jambur occupy fourth position with 154.

Barra/Essau sit fifth position with 110 points, while Presentation occupy 6th position with 83 points.
