Head coach of Berewuleng female team, Fakebba Saine, has expressed his dissatisfaction with the way their match against Police was played.

Coach Saine was speaking to journalists shortly after his side’s 1-0 defeat to Police FC in their week-14 outing of the 2023-2024 Gambia Football Federation (GFF) Women's League Division One played at the Late Ousman Saho Football Field in Old Yundum on Saturday.

‘‘We saw the number of minutes that were wasted during the match and the central referee decided to add only seven minutes,’’ coach Saine said.
He added that their opponent’s goalkeeper wasted more than seven minutes during the match, adding that the referee who officiated the match should have calculate the time wasted.
“My girls played very well but my forward line were not focused during the match because we had series of chances to score but we failed to capitalise on them,’’ coach Saine pointed out.

Coach Saine stated that Police had one goal scoring chance and scored.

He noted that nothing can be predicted now.

‘‘We have four games to go before the end of the current league season and anything is possible. We saw what happened today; so everything is possible,’’ coach Saine posited.

Meanwhile, Fatou Darboe scored for Police in stoppage time of the first half to earn her side the significant three points.

Berewuleng still sit third-place with 29 point, while Police occupy second place with 31 points.

League leaders, Red Scorpion bounced back in the league after hammering Future Bi 6-0 to maintain top-spot in the league with 36 points.

TMT thumped City Girls 2-0 at the King George 5 Mini Stadium in Banjul on Sunday, while Koita FC thumped Immigration 2-0 at the Bakau Mini Stadium on Friday.

Brikama United defeated the Gambia Armed Forces 1-0 on the same day.
