Another Deferral in Fatou Jaw Manneh's Case Friday, April 25, 2008 The protracted case against Journalist Fatou Jaw Manneh could
not proceed yesterday at the Kanifing Magistrates Court due to the absence of
the defence counsel, Lawyer Jobarteh, who was said to be engaged at Brikama
court. The yesterday hearing before Principal Magistrate Buba Jawo was supposed to see the cross-examination of the prosecution witness by defence counsel. The Magistrate told the court that it was the right of the accused to hire a counsel but warned the accused that if her counsel does not appear in court on the next adjourned date, she would have to resort to other means.
