Yusupha Barrow: A Player with Great Potential

Yusupha Barrow is a player currently making waves in the footballing arena. A rising star with a lot of potential who made his mark in this years Gunjur Nawettan championship organised by Gunjur Youths and Sports Development Association.

He was born in 1993 in Gunjur and he started playing football in his early age on the streets of Gunjur Bomboli Baa Kunda.

Yusupha Barrow, alias Beckham, started his career with young Everton FC in junior Nawettan's organised by Gunjur Youth and Sports Development Association in 2003. He performed well in that tournament by scoring six goals and as a result he was awarded the leading goal scorer of the tournament.

Following his remarkable performance in the 2003 Gunjur junior Nawettan championship, Beckham joined Gamcel FC in the Gunjur senior Nawettan in 2004. He scored 15 goals for them in that year's Nawettan. The young hit man continued his scoring form this time for his native Gunjur by netting 8 goals for them in 10 appearances in the zonals and he has scored 29 goals in 41 games in his career.

Beckham can operate on both left and right flank and can also play as a supporting striker or a point striker. He has the ability and the energy to break any defence and when he is faced with it he can use both left and right feet respectively.

Speaking to Pointsports, the president of Gunjur Sports and Development Association, Mr. Buba Bojang, alias Bada, said Yusupha Barrow is one of the most talented, skillful and disciplined players in Gunjur. Thus called on all and sundry to help Yusupha in order that he might realise his dreams and aspirations.

In his own words Yusupha Barrow, believes that football is all about determination, commitment, hard training, fitness and discipline. He commended his coach Buba Kakai Bojang, team mates, GYSDA, Alieu Jabang a personal coach of Yusupha Barrow and the entire community of Gunjur for their support and encouragement.
