Young talented Gambian appeals for support

Swaibou Jammeh, a 25-year-old young Gambian residing in Wellingara, is seeking support to implement his talent of inventing things.

The 25-year-old who had so far made many things, said he had recently produced a trophy and a grinding machine he made and wants to present to President Yahya Jammeh for the 20th anniversary of the July 22nd Revolution.

If given the opportunitym he wants to have an audience with the President to present to him the trophy and grinding machine, he said.

Speaking in an interview on Tuesday, Jammeh said he made the items specifically for the President as his own contribution to the July 22nd anniversary celebration.

He said he made the trophy that has small jumping lights in it, and the grinding kettle that can be used to grind fruit to produce fruit juice.

He was inspired by the good work done by the President throughout the 20 years, and as a youth this was his own way of saying thank you, he said.

He added that he created the items in a unique way, and that the trophy is different from all other trophies.

Jammeh revealed that he has made a lot of things using empty 20 gallon containers. He said he used his own resources to make them, and that his father has helped him with money to buy the raw materials.

He said if he is given support he would make things that the world will talk about.

He said he is appealing to anyone who is interested in what he does to come out and offer him a helping hand.
