Tuesday, July 14, 2009

Young Africans are through to the final of the Gamtel sponsored FA cup championship following their 6-5 victory over Africell on penalty shoot-out after normal play of time ended 0-0 at the Serrekunda East Mini Stadium on Sunday.

The game was totally dominated and controlled by Africell FC who created so many scoring opportunities in front of Young Africans goal mouth but failed to capitalise on their numerous chances while Young Africans were defending and they relied on counter attacks until the 90th minute, ended 0-0 and then the match went into a post-match penalty shoot-out which ended 6-5 in favour of Young Africans.

Young Africans will now clash with Gamtel FC in the final schedule for Sunday 19th July 2009 at the Independence Stadium in Bakau.

The GFA FA Cup championship is proudly sponsored by Gamtel for the past years as part of their contribution towards the development of sports particularly football at the grassroots level.
