YMCA wins porcupines basketball tourney

After a promising start to the just concluded six teams Invitational Basketball Tournament staged by the Porcupines Basketball Club, YMCA Basketball Club has realised its dream of lifting the title away from fellow title contenders after thrashing Skylanders 61 points to 36 in the final, at the Independence Stadium Basketball Court on Sunday.

They defeated the most fancy Serrekunda East Basketball Club by 31 points to 28 in the semi-final and in the process progressed to the final where they emerged champions in a stunning fashion.

Skylanders, who earlier ease pass Sport House by 39 points to 33 in the other semi-final a few days ago, played to the best of their abilities but the stars could not help their side achieve any meaningful result, and in the process went home as the second best team in the tournament.

Sports House recovered from their disappointing defeat against Skylanders in the semi-final to snatch a win over Serrekunda East, by a 1point margin in the third place earlier on Saturday.
